The East Baton Rouge ESports League wrapped up in thrilling fashion last weekend with champions across Madden, Super Smash Bros., and Rocket League!
Madden Championship
Coby Robinson (Tara High School) dethroned reigning champion Kameron Kelly (Scotlandville High) to claim the coveted EBREL Madden title.
Super Smash Bros. Championship
William Burris (Baton Rouge Magnet) secured a back-to-back championship victory, defeating Montral Winfield (Woodlawn High) in the finals.
Rocket League Championship
Elementary Division: Capitol Elementary rose above the competition, defeating Villa Del Rey to claim the championship title.
Middle Division: Scotlandville Middle Pre-Engineering Academy dominated the competition, securing the championship win over Southeast Middle.
High Division: Baton Rouge High School emerged victorious after a close match against last year`s champions, Tara.
Grand Finals: In an epic showdown, Baton Rouge High solidified its dominance by defeating SPEMA to become the ultimate EBREL Rocket League Grand Champions!

Students around the East Baton Rouge School System geared up for LEAP, which started Monday. At Tara High on Friday, students and volunteers prepared treat bags to hand out to testers. UPS of Baton Rouge donated water, chips and other items. At Southeast Middle, students were treated to a pep rally to get motivated. Special guests were the Liberty Magnet High School band and dancers and speaker Khoi Nguyen, a Baton Rouge multimedia specialist and creative hobbyist. Every year on April 15, we celebrate American Sign Language (ASL), which is primarily used by members of the deaf community who are unable to hear or speak.
The American School for the Deaf opened on April 15, 1817, in Hartford, Connecticut. Teachers and students blended Native American Signs, French Sign Language and even Martha’s Vineyard Sign Language to produce American Sign Language.

CTEC prepares students starting as early as 10th grade for the challenge of postsecondary education and a globally competitive workforce through quality academic instruction and hands-on training by master trainers and technicians in the manufacturing, construction crafts, health care and information technology fields. #WeAreEBR #ebrschools

A convenient and accessible healthcare option is available for students at Jefferson Terrace Academy. The school-based Open Health Care Clinic held its ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, offering various comprehensive health services, including preventive care, vaccinations, minor illness and injury treatment. The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. This is Open Health’s second school-based clinic in EBR Schools after Capitol Middle School, aligning with the federally qualified groups` commitment to prioritizing the overall well-being of students and creating an environment that supports their academic success. #WeAreEBR #ebrshools.

Jags Day on the Bluff is a field day hosted by @southernusports open to the Baton Rouge community where children between the ages of 5 and 12 can experience a full day of play with a series of modified sports on the bluff!
Jags Day on the Bluff will take place on Saturday, April 20th from 9:00am–2:00pm at the A.W. Mumford Stadium.
